2025 October 31 Happy Halloween to you and yours from all of us at Blamepro.com, Magic World Publishers, and St. Vitus Press! We hope it's simply Spooktacular! October 16 Friends, the holiday season is upon us! Magicians are in especially great demand during Halloween, Winter (Christmas/Hanukkah,Kwanzaa) and New Year's Eve. It's also a great time to sit beside the fire and curl up with a classic magic book. You'll find a huge selection (over 600 print titles alone) here to put on your holiday wish list. August 29 We recently requested bids to reprint one of our 300-page titles and were shocked to discover that most print shops wanted more than $26.00 per book to print it, plus freight, making it around $26.50 each! Unfortunately, we wanted to continue to price it at $20.00. At that price, though, it would mean that we'd be losing money on every sale. The solution? We repaired one of our presses, allowing us to continue to print it in-house and price it at $20.00. My great-grandpa had a phrase for it: "Lose a little on every sale and make it up in volume." We're still trying to figure that one out, but it warms our heart to see our books flying off the shelves. Thanks for your support. July 15 Have you noticed that the price of books have gone sky high lately? When one of our books sells for $25 new, we're amazed that many used marketplace sellers try to get two or three times as much for the same title! Yes, the prices for raw materials (ink, paper, cover stock, binding supplies, labor) have gone through the roof, but in the majority of cases, our books sell for less (adjusted for inflation) than they did when first introduced. We'll hold the line as much as we can, but if there's a particular title on your wish list, we recommend buying it sooner rather than later. May 31 Everyone knows that magic and comedy go hand in hand. That's why performers in the know are always looking to add an extra comedy bit to their act. One book that's chock full of great advice and material in "Tiny" Grant's Comedy Patter : Its Presentation and Use, published by us. The digital edition was added to Lybrary.com earlier this week and already it's the number one book in four categories! If your business is laughter, you should have this book in your working library. May 19 Kid Shows category added. April 28 One of our popular sellers is Tricks with Magnets by U. F. Grant. Not only are the tricks pretty cool, especially if you perform them with the high-powered neodymium magnets available at Harbor Freight Tools and Amazon, but they'd make a fine science fair project, too, if you work up a nice scientific explanation that doesn't necessarily reveal the secret. April 6 The Supernormal Powers of Hypnotism by the legendary Ormond McGill is at No. 1 on Lybrary.com's Hypnotism Hot List. Thank you for putting it there. January 11 Illusion Books category added. January 1 Happy New Year! This is the time for making (and then keeping) resolutions that will help encourage you to make 2025 the best year ever in terms of personal, magical and financial health and prosperity. One way to help meet your goals is rediscovering the wealth of valuable information found in our reprints of vintage and collectible magic books. Make what's old new again with a clever plot twist or updated patter story. Doug Henning and David Copperfield are just two of the many performers whose beautiful performances introduced magical classics to new audiences and along the way made names for themselves. You can do it, too.
