Three of the controls on the JH-1 are concentric, meaning that there are two controls per shaft. It's amazing to count a total of seven controls on this unit, allowing the guitarist to dial in any sound from a dark, smooth tone to an all-out roar that the February, 2000, issue of Guitar Player magazine says packs "the punch and immediacy of a Marshall JCM 800."

The JH-1 features a passive (true) bypass switch, preferred by many purists since it eliminates any trace of the effect when the unit is clicked out of the circuit. The JH-1 is powered by a 9 volt battery, and also features an external 9 volt DC input jack and a status LED.

• Crunch or Lead mode
• Gain
• Master Volume
• Contour (clockwise cuts upper mid/treble, counter-clockwise cuts bass/low mid)

• Bass and Treble
