"Sweet stereo swirl without gaudy tone"

NOTE: As of 2007, this pedal is becoming hard to find. Most retailers are instead stocking the newer Marshall RG-1 Regenerator pedal.

The Supervibe SV-1 pedal is another in the new series of guitar effects pedals by Marshall. Like the other models in the line, this one is issued in a sleek, metal housing that looks as good as it sounds. Marshall calls it "the most musical and usable stereo chorus you will find!"

The SV-1 features four knobs to provide the utmost control over the following aspects of your sound:

  • Speed
  • Depth
  • Wave (morph between variable and fixed rate LFOs)
  • Filter (bandwidth of the chorus effect)

The SuperVibe employs a passive bypass foot switch, preferred by many purists since it eliminates any trace of the effect when the unit is clicked out of the circuit. The SV-1 is powered by a 9 volt battery, and also has an external 9 volt DC input jack and a status LED.

From warm, lush, retro vibrato to cool, contemporary chorus - from simple single wave form to complex ensemble, the Supervibe will add that special shimmer to your sound.

The February, 2000, issue of Guitar Player magazine recommends routing the left and right outputs from the SV-1 to a pair of guitar amps, then selecting a darker tone from the filter control to produce a "sweet, yet complex stereo swirl without a hint of the gaudy, pseudo-Leslie tones" that other pedals give. The same article gave this pedal maximum points for workmanship -- it's built to take it!
