1968 PA Head w/1969 PA columnsReprint of advertisement for model 1969 4x12" PA speaker columns and model 1968 P.A. Super 100 watt amplifier. This appeared in Marshall "30th Anniversary Catalogue" # M00025/92/1.

The caption reads "The most impressive, powerful and distortion-free P.A. set-up yet!" I'm glad guitarists discovered that these PA heads could also produce that famous Marshall sound when cranked to 10!

Marshall amps, cabinets, and effects last a long time. They have to, to meet the rigors of transporting half stacks into tiny Volkswagens for garage bands, and to be reliable enough for top pros to use them as their backline in concert halls and stadiums throughout the world. Because of their ruggedness, many musicians purchase Marshall products second hand, from dealer show rooms and private parties alike.

That's why information on previous Marshall products is so useful. Here you can find model numbers, specifications, photos, and tidbits of knowledge that can help you make an informed buying decision (especially when purchasing from online auctions) and also help you get more use from the amp or Marshall accessory you already own.

Hal Leonard The History of Marshall If you like Marshall amps, you'll want a copy of Michael Doyle's incredible book: The History of Marshall. Inside you'll find reprints of vintage catalogs, spec sheets, schematics, recording and performing artists using Marshall gear, and beautiful photos (many in full color) of Marshall amps from the first models up through -- and including -- the JCM 900 series. This is one book that you'll refer to again and again. Makes a great gift, too. More...
