Marshall Speaker Cabinet Construction

Marshalls aren't just for guys! "The sheer sonic and visual power of Marshall speaker cabinets has made them synonymous with the sound and image of rock. Their awesome tone and projection makes them the only serious choice for serious, gigging guitarists the world over."
-- (Marshall catalog M0145)

closeup of cabinet joint Marshall speaker cabinets are built tough to sound great and keep their sound from gig to gig. Part of the secret is the finest grade Baltic birch plywood used in their construction. The cabinets are also lighter than competing models that use particle board. And that's a real plus if you have to haul your own cabinets! Corner locking wood joints are used for strength and durability.

Marshall MCSN Caster and Socket Set Heavy duty casters are standard equipment on all Marshall full-size cabinets. They may be unscrewed, if desired, since the connecting stem is threaded. This is a handy feature that keeps you from having to block the wheels when setting up on non-level stages.

(Lose a caster? No problem! Replacement casters and threaded sockets are available at your dealer and packaged individually.)

Marshall MCC Caster Cups 4 - Pack

Marshall 1960B (bottom) 4x12 cabinets feature unique caster cups to securely hold the top and bottom cabinets together without rocking.

(Caster cups are also available separately for those who wish to stack an angled cabinet on a different brand of bottom speaker, or perhaps on top of a road case.)

plastic corners

No sharp metal edges or rough fittings on Marshall cabinets! The smooth ABS plastic corners fit perfectly and offer protection to all eight cabinet corners.

This means your cabinets and your door drames will stay protected. Replacement corner pieces are available at your dealer.

handles

Grab handles on both sides of the cabinet are tough and ergonomically designed. The recessed casing design gives easy access to the bar of the handle without affecting the smooth lines of the cabinet. The handles make it easy for an average person to grab a handle in each hand to carry a 4x12 cabinet.

Marshall cabinets and amplifier combos feature Celestion speakers for tight, crisp sound reproduction. It's the Marshall sound!

Of course, since Marshall and Celestion offer so many different speakers with a variety of voicings and power handling capabilities, you can customize your speaker cabinet so that it has the sound that's right for you.

Popular 12-inch speakers include the G12T-75 model used in 1960A and B 4x12 cabinets, the G12M Heritage featured in the TSL combo amp, the G12M 35-watt greenback model used in the vintage series 4x12 cabinets, and the ever-popular Vintage 30 model that provides classic tones, yet handles 60 watts of power.

The Vintage 30 is also a popular replacement speaker for combo amps from any manufacturer, since its crisp reproduction and excellent efficiency can make an amp sound nearly as twice as powerful!

covers
