   Michael Swanson
               Guitars, lead vocals

Michael Swanson Michael Swanson (aka Sorry Excuse) is the band's resident cheesehead.

Hailing from Wisconsin, Michael earned his wings with the Olympia bands Plunge and FishLips, before settling into his current role with THE EXCUSES.

Michael helps balance the band's harder edge by handling lead vocal chores on songs like "One" (U2) and "Lonely Ol' Night" (John Mellencamp). But you'll know Michael's a rocker at heart when you hear him belt out such rock classics as "American Band" (Grand Funk), "Pride and Joy" (Stevie Ray Vaughan), "867-5309/Jenny" (Tommy TuTone) and "Refugee" (Tom Petty).

Because of his roots in America's Dairyland, with a little arm twisting you might get Michael and the boys to play "Good Work" -- a tune by Wisconsin band The BoDeans. That rockin' number also gives Michael an opportunity to showcase his lead guitar capabilities.

Michael's energetic riffing and lead vocals will have you begging for more.

Michael Swanson uses Paul Reed Smith and Fender guitars, Vox amplifiers, and Audix microphones.
