1986 Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 Scarlet Flame Top

1986 Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 Scarlet Flame Top

This second year PRS was made in the Virginia Street (Annapolis) factory. Carved figured maple top, stamped first generation T&B humbucking pickups, one piece PRS/Mil-Com tremolo bridge with removable trem bar. Sweet switch (adds a cocked-wah sound, as requested by Carlos Santana), 24 fret neck with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, abalone moon inlays, small neck heel, regular neck carve. Earliest PRS headstock logo, winged locking tuners with "Made by Schaller W Germany" stamp. Has a few very minor dings and bumps that you have to look hard to see, but clean as a whistle and EXC+++ overall.

Includes PRS early era (trapezoid accessory compartment) Tolex case with paperwork and trem bar. This is one for the collection in an uncommon color for this year. The flamed maple top really pops in bright light, as you can see in the flash photo above. The mahogany back shows very beautiful figuring, too. Formerly owned by PRS endorsee Todd Aure.

$4500 + $75 shipping/insurance.
